Vadhavan Port: A New Era for Maharashtra’s Economic Growth

On August 30, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the Bhumipoojan of Vadhavan Port in Palghar district, near Mumbai. This event marks a pivotal moment for Maharashtra’s development. Vadhavan Port, first promoted by Devendra Fadnavis in 2014, faced delays due to the need for deeper waters to accommodate larger ships. The project saw a revival in 2022 under the leadership of Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis, who addressed local concerns and secured permissions.
